NBA Star Shares Unexpected Reaction to Nikola Jokic Comparisons
Since his rookie year, Alperen Sengun has been receiving comparisons to Nikola Jokic. While it's an amazing compliment, now that he's 21 years old, Sengun is looking forward to a point where he's no longer called "Baby Jokic."
During a preview of the newest episode of The Old Man & The Three, Sengun opened up about the comparisons between and Nikola Jokic. For now, Seungun says being called "Baby Jokic" doesn't bother him.
"No," Sengun said. "Not for now. You know, I'm still young, but after some point, yeah."
Still, Sengun understands that being called "Baby Jokic" is rooted in a compliment. People are saying this to compare to him a two-time MVP.
"I mean, yeah," Sengun said. "They mean like my game is similar to him. Yeah. Is it true though? We kind of play the same game."
Despite all the praise of being called the next Jokic, Alperen Sengun is still very much looking forward to a point where he's his own player. A moment where he doesn't have to hear the words "Baby Jokic" anymore.
"Right now, I'm like a baby," Sengun said. "But like, when I grow up I don't wanna hear that."
Until then, the young 21-year-old center will just have to endure being called "Baby Jokic". After that, his time will definitely come to be the best center in the NBA.
