Nikola Jokic Gets Honest About Teaming Up With Luka Doncic
If there's one question every NBA asked themselves after the All-Star break ended, it was "When are Nikola Jokic and Luka Doncic going to team up?" That's the exact question Jokic was asked after the All-Star game, too.
After the All-Star game, Nikola Jokic was asked by the media if he ever planned on teaming up with Luka Doncic in his career, and Jokic gave a surprisingly honest answer.
"I don't know," Jokic said. "It's possible. I don't want to leave Denver. I like it there and it's a great organization. But if Luka gets pissed off in Dallas, he can come."
After winning an NBA Championship, it's tough to see Nikola Jokic ever leaving the city of Denver unless some kind of truly awful fallout happens. Luka Doncic leaving the Dallas Mavericks would be far more likely than Nikola Jokic leaving the Denver Nuggets. However, both scenarios are pretty tough to imagine in themselves. It would also be tough to see who would handle the ball more if the two of them played with each other - neither Jokic nor Luka have played with ball-handlers of their caliber.
Before Nikola Jokic and Luka Doncic even have the slightest chance of teaming together, a playoff series between the two players has to happen first. It would be downright unfair to never see Jokic and Luka face off in the playoffs at least once.
