The Denver Nuggets had a bizarre first half vs. the Houston Rockets on Friday night. Finishing the half down 60-43, Denver looked really bad on both ends, but their superstar center Nikola Jokic had a historic first half.

Finishing the first half with 25 points, 13 rebounds, and 3 assists, Jokic became the first player to post that line or better in the first half of a game since the NBA began tracking such data in 1996, per Basketball Reference's StatHead. Only Joel Embiid and Anthony Davis have posted a first half with at least 25 points and 13 rebounds since the NBA began tracking such, but neither also had three assists.

While this was a special half from Jokic on offense, it was not enough to even have his team close to Houston, as nobody else on the Nuggets was able to get much going. Scoring 25 of Denver's 43 first half points, Jokic was almost their entire offense. While the reigning Finals MVP is capable of carrying an offensive load like his, he needs his teammates to get going, especially in the absence of Jamal Murray.

The Nuggets are just 4-4 since Murray went own, and are in danger of dropping another game on Friday night vs. a tough Rockets team. While Houston may have been an easy win the last few seasons, that is clearly not the case anymore.
