Nikola Jokic Makes NBA History vs. Portland Trail Blazers
Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic finished with 29 points, 15 rebounds, 14 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block in a win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday night, becoming just the fourth player in NBA history to post that line or better in a single game (per Basketball Reference's StatHead).
The only other recorded instances in NBA history with this line or better were by Magic Johnson in 1981, Draymond Green in 2016, and Luka Doncic in 2023. While Jokic joins these three players, he is the only recorded player in NBA history to put up this line or better on at least 70% from the field. Jokic also played just 35 minutes in this game, which is far fewer than Johnson's 47 minutes, Doncic's 46 minutes, and Green's 44 minutes.
Making history on what feels like a nightly basis, Jokic is doing unprecedented things right now. It was just one day ago when Jokic became the first player in NBA history with a 20/15/15 game on 100% shooting. Jokic did this on the same night he recorded a triple-double vs. his 29th different opponent, joining LeBron James and Russell Westbrook as the only three players in NBA history to record a triple-double against every possible team.
Somehow reaching new heights, Jokic has been absolutely incredible this season, and continues to impress on a nightly basis.
