Nikola Jokic Reacts to Controversial Ejection
Nikola Jokic had one of the most ridiculous ejections of the NBA season on Tuesday night against the Chicago Bulls. Even though most who watched the game would call the ejection unwarranted, Jokic was calmer about the moment than expected.
After the Nuggets defeated the Bulls on Tuesday, Jokic was asked about the controversial ejection and gave a very coy answer.
"It is what it is," Jokic said. "I'm just happy that we didn't play in Serbia, this game. It could've been really fun to see how it would be handled. It was interesting. It is what it is. Some guys can say whatever. I think sometimes what I say is not even a technical. So, it is what it is."
Nuggets head coach Michael Malone couldn't believe the ejection himself, once he learned why Nikola Jokic was ejected.
"When I heard what he said, I said I don't understand the problem, because when I grew up, that was a term of endearment in my house," Malone said.
Between the Nuggets game, the Mavericks game, and the Clippers game, Tuesday night was a very rough night for NBA officiating. Fortunately for all three teams, the officiating didn't impact the outcome of any games. The Nuggets found a way to defeat the Bulls, the Mavericks found a way to defeat the Lakers, and the Clippers blew out the Sacramento Kings.
Up next for the Denver Nuggets is the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday.
