Until proven otherwise, the Denver Nuggets are the team to beat in the Western Conference. Even if the Phoenix Suns added Bradley Beal, the Nuggets are still the defending NBA Champions. There's one big piece of the Nuggets that is missing though, and that is Bruce Brown.

Nikola Jokic has been out of the country for the majority of the off-season, including when Bruce Brown left the team for the Indiana Pacers. During the Nuggets Media Day, Jokic was finally asked about Brown leaving the team, where he gave the most Jokic-type answer possible.

"Of course we're mad at him," Jokic said. "Maybe we won’t give him a ring."

If there's one player that the Denver Nuggets are going to especially miss this season, it's going to be Bruce Brown. Even though Bruce Brown wasn't a starter for the team, he was easily their best bench player and was incredibly versatile.

Despite the loss, the Denver Nuggets still have one very important player available - the best player on the planet, Nikola Jokic. With both Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray available, the Denver Nuggets will have a fighting chance against anyone in the NBA. Not to mention, the depth of Aaron Gordon and Michael Porter Jr.

As it stands, the biggest threat to the Denver Nuggets' championship repeat stands in the Eastern Conference, in the form of the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks. Still, Denver can't sleep on anyone in the Western Conference just yet.
