Nikola Jokic's Status for Nuggets vs Raptors Revealed
The Denver Nuggets face off against a very shorthanded Toronto Raptors team tonight, and they'll have the help of the reigning NBA Finals MVP to do it.
The Nuggets have officially listed Nikola Jokic as available against the Toronto Raptors tonight. Not only that, but they'll have their entire starting five lineup against the shorthanded squad.
Against the Toronto Raptors, Nikola Jokic has averaged 19.7 points, 11.2 rebounds, and 5.9 assists in 17 games. It's a surprisingly low number for Jokic, who averages 26.0 points a game this season and 20.8 points in his career. For one reason or another, the Nuggets struggle a bit against the Raptors, as well. Since the 2019-2020 NBA season, the two teams have split every single regular season series 1-1.
If Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets can pull off the win tonight, they'll be tied in the win column with the first-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder. If not, they'll have the exact same record as the third-seeded Minnesota Timberwolves. Creeping behind Minnesota is the LA Clippers, who are only 2.5 games behind away from the Denver Nuggets themselves. Every single game matters for all of the teams in the top four spots of the Western Conference. That's why beating a shorthanded Raptors team is absolutely crucial.
The Denver Nuggets face off against the Toronto Raptors at 8:00 p.m. EST tonight.
