Nikola Jokic's Status vs. Hawks Revealed
Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic has been in an uncharacteristic shooting slump the last two games. Struggling mightily from the floor, Jokic has not been able to get his usually consistent shot to fall. That said, the Nuggets remain very confident in the reigning Finals MVP, and want him to continue taking those same shots.
The Nuggets will face the Atlanta Hawks on Monday night, and Jokic is not listed on the injury report, meaning he is available to play. The Nuggets have not been the dominant force over their last several games that they are used to being, just 5-5 over their last 10 games, including a three games losing streak. That said, the Nuggets still sit just four games back of first place, and one game back of second place in the Western Conference.
The Hawks are also on a three game losing streak, which has dropped them to 9-12 on the season. One of the NBA’s bigger disappointments since their Eastern Conference Finals run in 2021, the Hawks have not been able to replicate anywhere close to that same success since. While Atlanta does not project to be a serious contender this season, they still have some star power that could give the Nuggets trouble in this game.
Looking to get back on track, the Nuggets hope to hand the Hawks their fourth straight loss on Monday, while snapping a losing streak of their own.
