After resting Tuesday night's preseason game vs. the LA Clippers, reigning Finals MVP Nikola Jokic is set to return to the lineup against LA on Thursday night. This will be somewhat of a dress rehearsal for the defending champions, who will use a regular rotation against a Clippers team missing Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and Russell Westbrook.

This game is essentially the inverse of Tuesday night when the Clippers played all of their regulars against Denver's reserves. While these two teams will see a lot of each other during the regular season, both sides felt it was better to not have two consecutive preseason games with full rotations against each other.

After sitting last game, Jokic and the regulars should get some solid playing time in this one, which Nuggets head coach Michael Malone indicated during his pregame media availability. There are of course already no high stakes in a preseason game, and it's even less significant with LA resting their regulars, but this is still a good opportunity for the Nuggets to work on good habits while building up their conditioning.

The preseason is always about getting back into a rhythm after a long offseason, and for the Nuggets this is even more so the case since they spent some time this summer celebrating their first NBA championship in franchise history.
