The Denver Nuggets are facing the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday night, and Nikola Jokic is being listed as questionable with low back pain. Jokic missed Denver‘s last game against the OKC Thunder with this same injury, which was just his second missed game all season.

One of the most durable stars in the NBA, it is very rare that Jokic misses games. That said, the Nuggets will always be careful with him if he is dealing with any pain or discomfort, which is why he is currently questionable for this game against the Trail Blazers.

Denver gave OKC a great fight without Jokic, losing by just five points to one of the best teams in basketball. If Jokic is unable to play against the Trail Blazers,  Denver should feel pretty good about their chances against one of the worst teams in basketball. The Nuggets have a lot of talented players who can step up in the absence of Jokic, and will look to put that on display in this game if the reigning finals MVP is unable to go.

Remaining in pursuit of the top seed in the Western Conference, every game is important for the Nuggets - even matchups like this against bottom-tier teams. The Trail Blazers still have some talented players, so Denver will have to approach this game with the right mindset.
