Nuggets Star Reveals Truth About Nikola Jokic’s Leadership
Throughout the offseason, Nikola Jokic has been unfairly critiqued as not really caring for the game of basketball. What critics forget is that one doesn't become a two-time MVP and one-time Finals MVP without loving the game - Aaron Gordon agrees.
On an episode of Michael Porter Jr's 'Curious Mike' podcast, Aaron Gordon revealed just how good of a leader Nikola Jokic is, and just how much he cares about the game of basketball.
"Jokic is a great leader, you know what I mean," Gordon said. "He's there on time. Every day he's on time, if not early. He works out in the morning, he gets his reps in. He goes to the game, does what he does in the game, and then after the game he lifts weights. He works religiously, every single day. He's humble, he shares the ball. So, when you have a two-time MVP and a one-time Finals MVP that's so selfless, like what else can you ask for? Everybody else gotta be selfless, too. If he can do it, everybody gotta be selfless."
Nikola Jokic isn't the best player in the world by accident. Just because fans see him being sarcastic all the time in front of a camera, shouldn't lessen what he does on the court. The success of the Denver Nuggets hasn't happened by accident. At some point, critics have to understand that and respect what both Jokic and the Nuggets have been doing for years.
