NBA all-time rankings are always at the center of heated debates, and Denver Nuggets star Jamal Murray recently shared a controversial take when asked for his personal list of the top-5 players in NBA history.

Without hesitation, Murray went with Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Steph Curry, Shaquille O'Neal, and then debated his final selection before going with LeBron James. NBA fans have been sharing their reactions to this list since it went viral on Twitter, with these elements being the most controversial: Murray's inclusion of Curry, and his hesitation to add James.

Curry's place on all-time rankings typically depends on what people value. With four championships, two MVP awards, two scoring titles, nine All-NBA selections, and the three-point record, Curry has the accolades to rival almost anybody. Having also revolutionized the game of basketball, many take this into account when deciding his place on all-time lists.

While all of the above certainly places Curry amongst the greatest to ever play, getting him in top-5 territory requires the omission of other worthy players, which is where Murray's take has become controversial. Still at the peak of his powers in many ways, Curry still has several more seasons to add to his legacy, which some believe he must maximize before breaking into this tier.

With so many legendary players in NBA history, several of which are still active, crafting all-time lists has never been more difficult - or controversial.
