In the final moments of Denver's opening night win over the Los Angeles Lakers, Nuggets fans chanted, "Who's your daddy?" The reference to Michael Malone being called "The Lakers' daddy" at the championship parade echoed throughout Ball Arena as the Lakers fell to the defending champions on ring night.

As the chants were raining down, Nuggets star Jamal Murray grabbed Malone and said, "This is your fault." Joking with his coach about being the originator of this rallying cry, Murray shared a viral moment with Malone in the final moments of this game:

While the Lakers and their fans may not like it, stuff like this is fun for basketball, and adds a level of interest outside of the game itself. At the end of the day, none of this is that serious, and is just fun banter between two fanbases that have been going at it since their Western Conference Finals matchup last postseason.

The Nuggets have shut down any idea that there is a rivalry with the Lakers, and while some players on LA's side made it known they were extra motivated for this matchup because of what transpired over the summer, that didn't seem to be the case for Nuggets players. Going out and taking care of business, the Nuggets moved to 1-0 in their championship defense season while the Lakers dropped the season opener.
