The Denver Nuggets are playing the Washington Wizards on Thursday night in their first game back from the All-Star break. Denver has released their injury report for this game, and star point guard Jamal Murray is being listed as probable with bilateral tibia inflammation.

The probable listing means that Murray is expected to play, which is great news for the Nuggets. Each game down the stretch will be important for Denver, as the Western Conference standings remain tightly contested. Denver entered the All-Star break as the fourth seed, three games back of the first seed Minnesota Timberwolves, 1.5 games back of the second seed OKC Thunder, and one game back of the third seed LA Clippers.

The top of the standings have been shifting daily in the West, with a three game losing streak for Denver dropping them to fourth. Looking to regain form following the break, Denver got some much-needed rest, and has an opportunity to get things back on track when they face Washington on Thursday.

Seeding projects to be very important in the Western Conference this season, as it always is, with the middle of the standings containing some very high-level teams. Even the bottom of the Western Conference standings has some talented teams, but the middle of the pack is where teams like the Phoenix Suns and New Orleans Pelicans currently sit.

This is one of the reasons why securing a top seed is crucial, and why the Nuggets need to get back on track following the break.
