Steve Kerr Shares Heartfelt Message to Michael Malone After Father's Passing
Denver Nuggets head coach Michael Malone lost his father on Monday, as longtime NBA coach Brendan Malone passed away at the age of 81. The NBA world has been sending their condolences to Michael Malone and his family, and Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was one of the most recent NBA figures to do so.
"I want to pass along my condolences to Mike Malone and his family," Kerr said. "His dad Brendan passed away yesterday. Brendan has had such an incredible impact on the NBA. When I played he was coaching for many years. I remember him most from being on the Pistons staff and those championship teams, but sad day for the NBA and of course for Mike and his family, so just from the Warriors, passing along our condolences to the Malone family."
These were very kind words from Kerr, who has a relationship with Michael Malone, and of course knew his father as well. It is a sad day in the NBA with Brendan Malone passing away, but it has been incredible to see the outpouring of love that the NBA community has had for Malone, the Nuggets, and everyone who knew the longtime coach.
Malone is not coaching the Nuggets in their game vs. the Suns tonight, but he has the NBA world behind him while he and his family work through this loss.
