The Denver Nuggets Have Expectations Fans Won't Believe
The Denver Nuggets were easily the best basketball team in the NBA last season. They're still the team to beat in the Western Conference, but they're not looking to just repeat this season.
Harrison Wind of DNVR Sports interviewed members of the Denver Nuggets where they revealed that the team wants to become a dynasty, not just a repeat champion.
“If we’re going to try and be a team that can repeat," Nuggets coach Michael Malone said to Wind. "If we’re going to try and be a team that can be a dynasty, like Golden State, like San Antonio, we have to have a standard of excellence each and every day."
This isn't the first time the Nuggets have brought up the word dynasty, nor will it be the last time. Throughout the off-season, many analysts believed that the Nuggets had dynasty potential, but that was before they lost the incredibly important Bruce Brown in free agency.
Make no mistake, the Denver Nuggets are an incredibly good team. The combination of Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, Michael Porter Jr., and Aaron Gordon has all the makings of a dynasty. However, one important thing people forget in the makings of a dynasty is luck. The team needs to stay healthy or be deep enough to withstand injuries in order to make it to the promised land. Whether this current team has that level of depth remains to be seen.
