The Philadelphia 76ers took care of business against the Houston Rockets on Monday, which was the first game of a back-to-back set that ends on Tuesday night vs. the Denver Nuggets. Joel Embiid played 31 minutes in the win over Houston, but head coach Nick Nurse told reporters after the game that he is expected to play on Tuesday against the Denver Nuggets.

The big man battle between Embiid and Nikola Jokic is always highly anticipated, and this one is no different. Both players have stayed near the top of the MVP race all season long, just as they were last year. While head to head battles are often not the deciding factor in MVP voting, it is always fun to watch two of the top candidates for the award go at it during the regular season.

Both Embiid and Jokic have been playing at an incredibly high level this season, as have their respective teams. Denver will enter this game 28-13, and Philadelphia will enter this game 25-13. Both the 76ers and Nuggets have stayed near the top of their respective conferences all season long, and both teams expect to make deep playoff runs this season.

For Jokic and the Nuggets, they are looking to defend their title. For Embiid and the 76ers, that's a level they are still trying to get to.
