The San Antonio Spurs have released their injury report for Friday night's game vs. the Denver Nuggets, and star rookie Victor Wembanyama is not listed, meaning he is available to play. This sets up a very exciting matchup between Wembanyama and Nikola Jokic, as the rookie phenom will go up against the reigning Finals MVP.

Many feel Wembanyama will be the best player in the world sooner rather than later, but for now that title belongs to Jokic. Following up his historic playoff run with another MVP-caliber season, Jokic is the favorite most places to win the league MVP award, which would be the third of his legendary career.

The Nuggets recently reclaimed their spot atop the Western Conference, which would give them home court advantage throughout the playoffs if they can hold onto the first seed. While San Antonio will of course not be making the playoffs this season, games like this are still an opportunity to get better by seeing what a true championship team looks like.

The Spurs knew it would be a process going from a lottery team to a group that expects to win, and while they aren't there yet, San Antonio hopes to build some momentum down the stretch of this season that can lead into some overall improvements next season. This should be a fun matchup between San Antonio and Denver.
