Warriors Rookie Reacts to Facing Jokic For First Time Ever
Guarding Nikola Jokic is never an easy task. Guarding Nikola Jokic for the first time ever seems like a far more daunting one - that's what Warriors rookie Trayce Jackson-Davis had to do last night.
Even though one would expect Trayce Jackson-Davis to be scared of the match, he was very composed. His numbers didn't jump off the page, but mentally, he took the entire situation in good spirits - especially postgame.
"One of the best in the world right now, he's great, he's very good, that's also valuable," Jackson said. "Honestly, he kinda does some things that I used to do in college, with the spin-offs and stuff like that. But he's got excellent touch around the rim, and he's a force. Definitely, a great experience."
In his first match ever against Jokic, Jackson-Davis put up 8 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 assist on 67% shooting. Conversely, on the other end, Jokic put up 35 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 block, and 3 steals on 56% shooting. Simply put, Jokic was unstoppable last night against the Golden State Warriors. To be fair, Trayce Jackson-Davis was only thrust into this position because of the absences of Draymond Green and Dario Saric, but he did as well as he could have.
It wasn't without controversy, but the Denver Nuggets continued their four-game winning streak against the Golden State Warriors last night. The next time they face off will be on Christmas.
