WATCH: Nikola Jokic Ejected From Nuggets vs. Pistons Game
After picking up his second technical foul of Monday night's game vs. the Detroit Pistons, Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic was ejected from the game after playing just 15 minutes. The ejection came after Jokic was upset with a non-call, and made that known to the official:
This ejection for Jokic came not long after his head coach Michael Malone was also ejected, as Denver will have to play the rest of this game without their head coach and best player. It was clear throughout the start of this game that there was a lot of frustration from Denver's side, and it has resulted in two massive ejections.
Already without Jamal Murray, who remains sidelined due to injury, the Nuggets are now very shorthanded while trying to snap a two-game losing streak. Denver is just 3-3 since Murray went down with injury, and while they are facing the worst team in the NBA vs. the Pistons, it will still be tough to pull this one out without Jokic, Murray, and coach Malone.
It will be interesting to see if the officiating crew reveals their reasoning for ejecting Jokic and Malone, because while both were visibly upset, it's always tough to tell exactly what was said in order to warrant the technicals. It has been a struggle for the Nuggets the last couple of games, and some of that frustration was shown early in this one.
