While Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic did not play for Team Serbia in the FIBA World Cup this summer, he was still very supportive of his country throughout their run. Taking home the silver medal, Serbia did very well to compete without the reigning Finals MVP, who was texting them after every single game.

Recently seen celebrating with Team Serbia, Jokic went viral for dancing and partying with the silver medalists:

As the original post mentioned, it seems tennis star Novak Djokovic was also in attendance. It's been a very fun summer for Jokic, who has been celebrating the Nuggets' championship run, and now gets to celebrate Team Serbia taking home a silver medal.

While Jokic not playing for Team Serbia was a major blow to their gold medal chances, many felt his absence would disqualify them from medaling at all. A confident and talented group, Serbia proved that prediction wrong, coming up with some impressive wins to earn the silver medal.

Jokic is of course the best Serbian player in the world, and widely considered the best basketball player in the world - period. His absence was a big one for Serbia, but they understood why he was unable to participate after just completing a very difficult playoff run. Perhaps Jokic will rejoin Serbia for the Olympics next summer when several other NBA stars are expected to play.
