WATCH: Nikola Jokic Throws Unbelievable Assist in Nuggets vs. Grizzlies Game
The Denver Nuggets defeated the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday night in a close game that came down to the final minutes. Nikola Jokic was special once again for Denver, finishing with 22 points, 12 rebounds, and 7 assists. While Jokic tallying assist numbers like this has become expected from him, none were more impressive on Friday night than this overhand baseball pass to Aaron Gordon for the lob finish:
Jokic is one of the best passers in NBA history, and undeniably the greatest passing big man in NBA history. Setting several records for a center with his playmaking last postseason, Jokic has picked up right where he left off after that historic run that ended in a championship and Finals MVP award.
The Grizzlies were very shorthanded in this game, but still competed hard and gave the defending champion Nuggets a tough game. Memphis remains without Ja Morant as the star point guard serves his 25 game suspension, but they still have a lot of tough players that competed hard in this one.
As they did throughout the entire postseason, the Nuggets were just sharper when it mattered most in this game, and were able to close out the Grizzlies behind solid showings from Jokic and Jamal Murray. Once again adding an impressive play to his career highlight tape, Jokic was special in this one.
