Western Conference Rival Targeting Denver Nuggets Player
While both Bruce Brown and the Denver Nuggets would love to continue their partnership, it might not be realistic. Brown is set to become an unrestricted free agent, which will allow him to sign wherever he pleases. After emerging as a key piece to Denver's title run, Brown is expected to receive offers greater than what the Nuggets can pay him.
In a recent article from Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, the Minnesota Timberwolves were reported as a team linked to Brown, as they can gain access to the full mid-level exception by waiving Taurean Prince. The full MLE is around the range some believe Brown will be worth on the open market; however, it's always hard to predict free agency contracts.
Whether it's the Timberwolves or another team, Brown will have offers this summer that are worth far more than any deal he has signed so far in his NBA career. Not heavily recruited before he signed with the Nuggets, Brown proved every team wrong that passed on him, and has set himself up nicely for a new deal.
While there still is a possibility that Brown could return to the Nuggets, it's likely in his best interest to secure the most money possible at this point in his career. Nobody in Denver would fault him for doing that, especially after he helped deliver a title.
