Nikola Jokic's Honest Statement on Minnesota Timberwolves
The Minnesota Timberwolves have been the number one seed for the majority of the season for a reason - no one knows that better than Nikola Jokic.
After the Denver Nuggets toppled the Minnesota Timberwolves for control of the first seed, Nikola Jokic was asked about what he learned from facing their potential playoff opponent. One of the biggest compliments Jokic mentioned about the Timberwolves was their defense.
"I mean I think every game was different this year because we missed some guys, they missed some
guys," Jokic said. "I think we learned just playing them experience-wise they are the number one defensive team in
the NBA for a reason. They are so versatile, they have guys that have a long wingspan, they are athletic,
they can guard multiple positions. They are a really tough team to beat."
The Denver Nuggets may have the first seed right now, but they still have to win two more games before completely securing it. At least for now, the Nuggets control their own destiny. Should Denver finish the season as the first seed, they wouldn't see the Minnesota Timberwolves until the Western Conference Finals.
Last season, many argued that the Timberwolves were the Nuggets' toughest competition during the NBA Playoffs. If the two face off against these playoffs, there's a good chance that statement will hold true again.
