The San Antonio Spurs defeated the Denver Nuggets on Friday night behind another historic performance from Victor Wembanyama. Showing a lot of emotion after the win, Wembanyama told reporters why this win meant a lot.

"It just makes every win feel even more special,” Wembanyama said when asked how the Spurs have found their joy amid all the losing. “As a growing team, a young team, it’s big for us. We are going to need these kind of wins in the future."

Wembanyama also mentioned that this win put them above the Portland Trail Blazers in the standings, which obviously doesn't make any real difference, but is one of the little things Wembanyama feels is important for a growing team.

Speaking with reporters after the game, Nuggets head coach Michael Malone admitted this was a tough loss, saying per Raul Dominguez of AP, "Yeah, it’s disappointing. I mean, really disappointing. We controlled our own destiny and what we accomplished on Wednesday night, we just gave it right back. You know what I mean? So, it’s easy to get up for Minnesota. I mean, our guys were locked in, they were focused, they were serious. And I don’t think we had the same approach for tonight’s game, but you had a chance to get to the one seed and now, obviously, we’ll likely be the three seed at the end of the day.”
