Indiana Pacers and Fort Wayne Mad Ants two-way player Trevelin Queen suspended for one game of G League Playoffs
Indiana Pacers two-way contract guard Trevelin Queen, who has spent most of the 2022-23 season in the G League with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, has been suspended for the Mad Ants next game.
The G League announced the suspension on Monday. Queen, according to the release, will serve his suspension on Tuesday against the Capital City Go-Go in the first round of the G League playoffs. The 25-year old is suspended without pay for directing threatening language toward a game official.
The incident took place with just over four minutes to go in the third quarter of Mad Ants win over the Blue Coats on Saturday. Queen received one technical foul and then was ejected from the game. The Mad Ants were trailing by double digits at the time, but they came back to win and clinch a playoff berth.
Queen finished the game with 11 points, five rebounds, and three assists in 21 minutes of action. He has been one of the team's best scorers all season long as he has averaged 22.9 points per game in 35 G League appearances.
The 26-year old guard has played in seven games for the Pacers this season, where he has scored three points per game. He has grown as a defender and passer this year, according to Fort Wayne head coach Tom Hankins, and his absence will be significant for the Mad Ants in the playoffs.
"Just being a better individual, better teammate for the group. Just doing what I can to make the team successful," Queen said of his growth this season just over one week ago.
The Mad Ants, without Queen, will look to advance to the second round of the playoffs tonight. If they win, the two-way contract guard could return for the second round against Blue Coats, which would take place on Thursday.
