Indiana Pacers guard Bennedict Mathurin will host a basketball camp in Indianapolis on Saturday. It's his first camp in Indiana since being drafted by the Pacers in 2022.

The camp will take place in Noblesville, the city where Indiana's G League team is moving, and will begin in the morning. Roughly 60 participants between the ages of 12 and 14 are expected to attend the one-day event. The focus of the drills will be skill development and will mainly involve key elements of Mathurin's skill set.

His sister, Jennifer, is the camp's director. She played college basketball for four years at North Carolina State in the mid 2010s before playing professionally overseas.

This will be the second camp that Mathurin has been involved in during the offseason. He was a coach at the Basketball Without Borders Americas camp held in Quebec back in June. Other NBA players were also coaches at the event, including Lu Dort, who Mathurin is close with, and Chris Boucher.

"Seeing the kids play reminds me of myself when I was playing there," he said at the event, per The Canadian Press.

The Pacers guard is about to enter his second NBA season. After being drafted sixth overall in the 2022 NBA Draft, Mathurin averaged 16.7 points and 4.1 rebounds per game in his first season. His strong play, particularly early in the campaign, led to a spot on the All-Rookie First-Team.

Now, he's about to enter an important year. But first, he will host a community event and connect with young basketball players around Indianapolis. Pacers players Tyrese Haliburton and Myles Turner previously held local camps this summer.
