Indiana Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle inducted into Boys and Girls Club of America Alumni Hall of Fame

Carlisle and his family have ties to the Boys and Girls Club of Ogdensburg, New York

Indiana Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle has been inducted into the Boys and Girls Club of America Alumni Hall of Fame.

The ceremony took place in Orlando, Florida earlier this week. ESPN Basketball Commentator Vera Jones was also among the class of inductees.

Carlisle was born in Ogdensburg, New York, and his father Preston was a member of the board at the Ogdensburg Boys and Girls Club, per North Country Now. Rick Carlisle was a part of a ground breaking ceremony in which a gym was constructed at the Ogdensburg Boys and Girls Club, and the facility is named after Preston Carlisle.

"My father devoted his life to fighting for his clients in the legal forum and supporting the hopes and dreams of his children, grandchildren, relatives and friends. The Preston C. Carlisle Youth Athletic Center will be an enduring symbol of his life's work and passion," the now Pacers coach said at the time.

The Hall of Fame Ceremony took place at the Boys And Girls Club of America national conference.

Last week, Carlisle participated in a memorial event for Terry Holland, the former head basketball coach at the University of Virginia. Carlsile played for Holland in the early 1980s.
