INDIANAPOLIS — The NBA announced earlier this week that the Indiana Pacers home game vs the New Orleans Pelicans on February 28 will now be broadcast on ESPN.

It will be the second Pacers home game this season to reach a national audience — the first one was their In-Season Tournament Quarterfinals win over the Boston Celtics, which was on TNT.

Originally, the game vs New Orleans was supposed to be played at 7 p.m. Eastern Time, but it will now begin at 7:30 p.m.. The Pacers official website says that the game will be carried on Bally Sports Indiana as well.

"I'm excited... any time you've got national TV," Pacers star guard Tyrese Haliburton said earlier this season. "I think that's just the fun part about it is more eyes on our team... It'll be cool for us to get on the national scale and play on a big stage." he added. That certainly applies to next Wednesday's game.

Prior to flexing the Pacers vs Pelicans game on to ESPN, the network was going to air the Memphis Grizzlies at Minnesota Timberwolves tilt that night. With Memphis dealing with numerous injuries and having a poor record as a result, putting Haliburton and Zion Williamson into that spot made sense.

The Pelicans play three games before that battle with Indiana while the Pacers will play twice. As it stands right now, New Orleans is 34-22 while the blue and gold are 32-25.

The Pacers and Pelicans will face off again the following Friday night in New Orleans.
