Indiana Pacers forward Pascal Siakam was a finalist for Eastern Conference player of the Month in the month of March.

The honor is designed to recognize the player in each conference who had the best collective performances during a given month. For March, Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks was the winner in the East. He averaged 28.8 points and 5.8 assists per game while the Knicks went 9-5. Luka Doncic was the victor in the West.

Siakam had a wonderful month. He averaged 21.7 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game while shooting 53.8% from the floor. He was very often the Pacers best player, and Indiana went 8-7 during the month.

"That's something that I'm focusing on. Something that we need as a team, something that I want to get better at," Siakam said of his rebounding a few weeks ago. It was one of his best-ever full months on the glass.

He is rounding into form with the blue and gold as his chemistry evolves with star guard Tyrese Haliburton and he grows more comfortable within the team's scheme. The two-time All-Star had 26 points last night for his new team in Brooklyn.

Siakam was a nominee for player of the month in February, too, which was his first full month with Indiana. He was a finalist in January after splitting the month between the Pacers and Toronto Raptors. Pacers center Myles Turner was also a finalist during each of the past two months, but he was not named one for his play in March.

Siakam is averaging 21.4 points and 7.9 rebounds per game for the blue and gold across 36 appearances. Indiana is in sixth place in the Eastern Conference with five games to go before their season ends. They need Siakam to continue to be great in all of them.
