Tyrese Haliburton nominated for Eastern Conference Player of the Week for fourth straight time
The NBA announced the winners of the fourth Player of the Week award for each conference on Monday, and Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton was once again a nominee.
Haliburton has not taken home the honor this season, but he has been a finalist all four weeks. He's been great this campaign, and if he didn't have his worst performance of the season on Sunday night (12 points, three assists, four turnovers) in a disappointing outing, he may have been the winner the past week.
The honor instead went to New York Knicks guard Jalen Bruson, who led his team to a 3-1 record while averaging 28.5 points and 6.5 assists per game. Haliburton's former teammate in Sacramento, De'Aaron Fox, was the winner in the Western Conference.
Games played between November 13 and 19 were counted toward the award this time around. The Pacers only played two games in that span, and they went 1-1. They had both their best win and worst loss of the season during the week.
Despite his rough outing on Sunday night, Haliburton averaged 22.5 points and 9.0 assists per game during the week. He made over half of his three-point attempts and was the leader of the Pacers offense.
Indiana has three games in the coming week, so Haliburton will look to bounce back from his disappointing Sunday and try to finally win the Player of the Week honor. Haliburton took home the award one time last season and is one of just two Pacers players (Domantas Sabonis) to do it since 2020.
