Source: Indiana Pacers sign Darius McGhee, Reid Travis, and Kyle Mangas to Exhibit 10 deals
The Indiana Pacers are signing guards Darius McGhee and Kyle Mangas as well as forward Reid Travis to Exhibit 10 contracts, a league source told AllPacers on Tuesday. The Pacers made the moves official about 10 minutes after the report.
Contracts that contain an Exhibit 10 clause are useful for building a G League roster. They are one-year, non-guaranteed minimum deals with an NBA team, and if a player with such a clause in their contract is waived, they can receive a bonus up to $75,000 if they report to the G League for at least 60 days. Exhibit 10 deals are almost always G League-motivated.
McGhee, Mangas, and Travis will all almost certainly be with the Pacers affiliate team, the Indiana Mad Ants, for the coming season. They will be using the Pacers facilities for the 2023-24 campaign, making it one of the best G League setups.
Mangas is an Indiana native who grew up in Warsaw before attending Indiana Wesleyan University. He averaged 29.5 points per game as a senior in college and worked out for the Pacers twice during the pre-draft process in 2021. His professional career has taken him to the Czech Republic and Lithuania.
Travis was a McDonald's All-American in 2014 after being one of the best high schoolers in the nation. He's a Minnesota native who had a five-year college career and has played for a few franchises in NBA Summer League. Professionally, he has spent time in Germany and Japan.
McGhee is a rookie, and he played in 2023 Summer League for the Pacers. He just wrapped up a five-year collegiate career at Liberty University, where he averaged 22.8 points per game in his final season for the Flames.
During Summer League play, McGhee averaged 6.5 points per game in two appearances. He had high praise for teammate Andrew Nembhard earlier in the offseason and is excited about the opportunity to join the Pacers.
"The workout went great. Kind of fell in love with the organization," McGhee said of his pre-draft workout with the Pacers on the Locked On Pacers podcast earlier in the summer.
Indiana's roster is now full at 21 players. It's possible that none of the newly-signed players suit up for the franchise and instead go straight to the G League.
