The Indiana Pacers kick off their 2023-24 preseason slate with a game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday. It's the first tune-up game for both squads.

"Continuation of training camp. Hard play. Attention to detail at both ends of the floor. To the extent that it's possible, try to stay healthy," Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle said of the preseason. "A lot of that formula is you've got to play hard."

These games are about teams getting up to speed with new players, strategies, and rotations. The result is less important. The Pacers will be integrating at least four new players in Bruce Brown, Obi Toppin, Jarace Walker, and Ben Sheppard. Two-way contracts players could make that number climb even higher.

Pacers vs Grizzlies Injury Report

No official injury reports are released for preseason games. Brandon Clarke, Marcus Smart, and Ja Morant are dealing with injuries or suspensions for Memphis and could be out while Andrew Nembhard won't play for Indiana.

Key Matchup

Steven Adams vs Myles Turner: Adams is returning from injury for the Grizzlies while Turner hopes to take a step forward this year, especially as a leader. They will be important pieces for their teams tonight.

Adams is a terrific rebounder, and Indiana desires to be a better team on the glass in 2023-24. Memphis, and their bulky big man, will be a good opening test.
