Pelicans Sign Jared Harper to Two-Way Contract
The New Orleans Pelicans announced the signing of guard Jared Harper to a two-way contract.
Harper was on the team's G League affiliate Birmingham Squadron where he averaged 21 points, four rebounds, and seven assists this season. Harper was named to the G League's All-NBA first team last season.
This is Harper's second contract with the Pelicans, as he signed a two-way contract in December. He appeared in two games for the Pelicans averaging over 3 points and one assist in those contests. His deal then was terminated on January 9th.
The Pelicans were able to have another two-way player designation after Jose Alvarado's deal was converted from a two-way deal to a 4-year, $6.5 million contract earlier this week.
Though Harper is signed to a two-way contract, he will not be eligible for any postseason play should the Pelicans make it that far. Harper is a former Auburn graduate who went undrafted in the 2019 NBA Draft before having short stints with the Phoenix Suns and New York Knicks.
