Pelicans Provide Medical Update On Larry Nance Jr.
The New Orleans Pelicans announced forward Larry Nance Jr. has been diagnosed with a right rib fracture. The team will re-examine Nance Jr. in 10-14 days to determine his healing process. The nine-year veteran is averaging a career-low in minutes and points per game.
New Orleans recently signed forward Jeremiah Robinson-Earl to a two-way contract last week, so he figures to get even more playing time. Robinson-Earl has already started one game for New Orleans and averages 21 minutes a game for the Pelicans.
The injury bug has bitten New Orleans heavily to start the season. CJ McCollum is currently out dealing with a lung injury. Trey Murphy III and Jose Alvarado have yet to play in the regular season. Herb Jones has missed three straight games, and now Larry Nance Jr. is out.
The Pels are currently on a five-game losing streak and must face the No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the Western Conference over the next four days.
