NBA Rumors: Pelicans Interested in Lillard

Longtime NBA Insider says the New Orleans Pelicans have inquired about a trade for Damian Lillard.

NBA Insider Chris Haynes mentioned to Marc Stein on the #thisleague UNCUT podcast with Marc Stein that the New Orleans Pelicans inquired about Damian Lillard.

Sports Illustrated's Jeff Smith wrote, "The Clippers … the Minnesota Timberwolves, the New Orleans Pelicans, the Boston Celtics, those are the teams off the top of my head—I'm pretty sure there were more—those are the teams off the top of my head that called out to see what it would take [for Lillard]," Haynes stated.

A Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum reunion would be an interesting pairing for the Pelicans' backcourt — Dame's trade value will be high.  A prolific scorer like Lillard would give New Orleans a potent lineup with the team's top scorers, Zion Williamson, and Brandon Ingram.
