Pelicans Exercised Options On Young Stars

The New Orleans Pelicans exercised options on two of their brightest stars.

NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Pelicans have exercised third-year and fourth-year options on guards Dyson Daniels and Trey Murphy III, respectively.

Selected 8th overall in the 2022 NBA Draft, Daniels has appeared in 59 games (11 starts) for New Orleans, averaging 3.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 17.7 minutes per contest while shooting .418 from the floor, .314 from three-point range and .650 from the line.

Murphy III, selected 17th overall in the 2021 NBA Draft, has appeared in 141 games (66 starts) over two seasons for New Orleans, averaging 10.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 23.5 minutes per contest while shooting .461 from the floor, .400 from three-point range and .900 from the line.
