On Thursday, Zion Williamson had social media ablaze after he released a video via Instagram Stories.

ZION'S MONSTER DUNK

The two-second clip shows Zion throwing the ball off the backboard and then finishing between his legs for a monster one-handed dunk.

The clip spread like wildfire and was a trending topic on Twitter for most of the evening.

The video was the first physical activity we've seen Zion doing since his off-season foot surgery. On Monday, the Athletics' Shams Charania reported that Zion would not be making a return to the court this season. New Orleans is happy with his progress but decided to shut down the possibility of Zion returning before the close of the regular season.

However, after Zion's video was published, many speculate why he is not on the court with the Pelicans. Or, could the video's posting be to the hype and showcase the Zion 2 shoes he's wearing. Others noted how the ground seemed to give beneath him as he landed, suggesting that the video used some special flooring.

Whether it's a Nike tease or pointing to a return to the hardwood, his and Pelicans fans are no doubt happy to see Zion's progress.

WHAT'S NEXT FOR THE PELS

The team is currently fighting for a play-in spot as they sit in the 10th spot in the Western Conference. Ten games remain, including two with the Los Angeles Lakers, who hold the 9th spot ahead of the Pelicans.

Brandon Ingram's recovery is hopeful. The forward has been nursing a strained hamstring for the past couple of weeks. A return would boost the team seeking to make a strong playoff push.
