Earlier this week, the Pistons traveled to Chicago to take on the Bulls and came away with an ugly 46-point loss. Instead of folding up and letting a bad loss become two losses in a row, the Pistons bowed up and defeated the Raptors 103-87.

Pistons head coach Dwane Casey recognized the effort and approach in the win and praised his team for being ready after a bad loss.

"It was a good bounce back," Casey said. "Tonight would determine some of our backbone and show who we are. I think all our guys are prideful. When you get spanked like we did in Chicago, you better come out with some pride."

He specifically mentioned the focus and discipline that the team showed against the Raptors.

Casey also gave praise to Trey Lyles, who finished with 21 points and seven boards against the Raptors in the win.

"We're undersized every night so for Trey Lyles to do what he did, I thought he was excellent," Casey said.

Lyles also had some good things to say after his big performance and effort in the win.

"I think our energy has been better in the games that we won," Lyles explained. "In games we've dropped, the energy is too low."

Cade Cunningham and Hamidou Diallo each finished with 18 points in the win while Saddiq Bey added 15 and Frank Jackson chipped in 13.

Diallo has been playing better and better lately and cited Casey's messages when explaining why the efforts were on point against the Raptors.

We're just getting in the groove," Diallo said. "We're understanding how to play with one another. We're putting in the work and coach is preaching what he's got to preach."
