Game Info For Showdown With Miami
After winning three games in a row for the first time all season, the Pistons have now lost three in a row and have to try to bounce back against the No. 1 seed in the East Miami Heat tonight in South Florida.
How To Watch
The Heat are currently 45-24, atop the Eastern Conference standings and very tough at home. They have a great blend of outside shooting with guys like Duncan Robinson, Tyler Herro and Max Strus, mid-range offense with six-time All-Star Jimmy Butler and a versatile inside presence in Bam Adebayo. Throw in veteran point guard Kyle Lowry and you can see why the Heat are so solid this season.
Injury Report
Isaiah Stewart has been out since March 7 but is not listed on tonight's injury report. He's also not listed as a probable starter, so it'll be interesting to hear what head coach Dwane Casey has to say about Beef Stew and also how he decides to use him tonight against Miami. Stewart matches up well with Adebayo as a similar type of player, so it would certainly be good to get him back out on the court.
It's also worth noting that both Rodney McGruder and Killian Hayes are listed as probable. Neither are necessarily game changers, but both provide solid depth in the backcourt, which should help guys like Saddiq Bey and Cade Cunningham who have both logged a lot of minutes over the last few games.
Probable Starters
As mentioned above, it's Marvin Bagley III who is listed as the team's starting center, not Stewart, even though it looks like Stewart will be available to play tonight. Bagley has been great for the Pistons so that's definitely a development worth watching over the final month of the season.
Opponent Information
Last Meeting
A bunch of key players were out the last time these two teams met on December 23. Cade Cunningham, Jerami Grant, Killian Hayes and Rodney McGruder were out for Detroit, while Bam Adebayo, Jimmy Butler, Caleb Martin, Markieff Morris and Victor Oladipo missed the game for Miami. Detroit's roster is also different now with the addition of Marvin Bagley III. When these two teams played back in December, Trey Lyles led the way for Detroit with 28 points — he's now a Sacramento King.
