Let's get this offseason party started! The Detroit Pistons have had a pleasant start to the offseason beginning with drafting Jaden Ivey and Jalen Duren in the first round of the NBA Draft last Thursday.

The Pistons certainly aren’t done as there will be more new additions in the Motor City. Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported that the New York Knicks have traded Nerlens Noel and Alec Burks to the Pistons.

The Knicks also sent over two second-round picks and $6 million to get off both contracts.

This deal works for both sides, as the Knicks clear $30 million in cap space in their pursuit to sign point guard Jalen Brunson in free agency, which begins Thursday, June 30 at 6 pm, while the Pistons are getting two solid NBA veterans. As reported by Wojnarowski, the Pistons will utilize both Burks and Noel. The veterans were members of the Knicks for the past two seasons and were key pieces for the Knicks making the playoffs in 2021. Now Burks and Noel will help mentor the young Pistons squad.
