Pistons Fall Short Against The Raptors 115-111

The Pistons Fall Short In Their Fourth Quarter Comeback

Unfortunately, Dwane Casey's streak against the Raptors is over. The Pistons hung around for most of the game and made a comeback in the fourth quarter, but could not finish it off in a tough loss Monday night. Here are three takeaways from the game!

Jaden Ivey Taking Over In The Fourth Quarter

Starting this off with a positive as Ivey was the man in the fourth quarter. He set up most of the Pistons offense, whether through beating his man and finishing at the rim or creating wide open three-point shots for his teammates. He had some mistakes here and there, such as when he made a clutch steal, but did not see Dalano Banton and turned the ball over, or getting blocked at the rim multiple times, but it was a big step for him as the Pistons move into their Western Conference road-trip. Look for more of Ivey running the offense, especially with Cade Cunningham out.

Too Many Turnovers

Though Detroit made it close late, they were doomed from the start when the Raptors hounded the Pistons on defense throughout the game. The Pistons have been decent in terms of protecting the ball, but tonight was a rough night with the Pistons committing 19 turnovers in the game. When you have two young guard bringing the ball up, and you have the Raptors playing aggressive on defense, it is a recipe for disaster.

Two Big Starting Lineup

The Pistons made a switch today with Marvin Bagley III entering the starting lineup with Saddiq Bey moving to the bench. For the most part, the Bagley-Isaiah Stewart front-court held up will. Stewart unfortunately left the game in the first half with a right-foot sprain, but the two were the Pistons leading scorers in the first-half. Notably, Isaiah Stewart has found his touch from the three-point line as of late, going 2-2 from deep tonight.
