The phones in Detroit aren't ringing for too long anymore as Troy Weaver appears to search for moves in the wake of the injury to Cade Cunningham.

Let the trade rumors begin. As always under the Troy Weaver regime, the phones are open for discussion with opposing GMs. Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports released an article today detailing that the Pistons have "taken early calls" on Saddiq Bey. Fischer went on to clarify that the Pistons are "intent on further evaluating Bey before truly entertaining his trade market."

It's been a disappointing season thus far, to say the least for Saddiq Bey. The 23-year-old hasn't seemed to find his rhythm with the new additions the Pistons have made. Bey is averaging 14.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game off of 29% shooting from three. Those are all lower numbers than the statline he produced last year of 16.1/5.4/2.8 from 34.6% 3PT shooting.

Taking calls on a player should be no surprise given the state the Detroit Pistons are in, but to be clear it is not a definite sign of a future trade. Troy Weaver has been very open in the past to hearing trade proposals. It happened earlier this year as contenders took to the phones to discuss Bojan Bogdanovic's availability. Expect the rumors to continue as Detroit suffers from the loss of their former No. 1 pick, Cade Cunningham.

In the meantime, Saddiq Bey will continue recovering from a sprained right ankle, that will keep him sidelined from the rest of the Pistons' west coast trip. Once the third-year player returns, he will certainly look to dispel any rumors with improved play and more scoring opportunities with Cunningham out.
