Report: Warriors Emerging as Serious Contenders for O.G. Anunoby
There appears to be a new suitor in the O.G. Anunoby sweepstakes.
All the chatter over the past week had surrounded the New Orleans Pelicans and Memphis Grizzlies as potential landing spots for the 25-year-old forward, but suddenly the Golden State Warriors have reportedly emerged as "serious contenders" in a deal with the Toronto Raptors, according to Shams Charania.
The Western Conference appears to be loading up with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving both heading to the Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks, respectively. The Grizzlies have added Luke Kennard in a deal involving Danny Green, likely taking them out of Anunoby discussions.
It's possible the Pelicans still swing a deal with Toronto involving some combination of future first-round picks and young players.
A Warriors deal for Toronto could involve Moses Moodey and Jonathan Kaminga, two intriguing young prospects the Raptors could use to build around Scottie Barnes for the future. Golden State also has it's 2028 and 2029 first-round picks available to be traded as well as a potential pick swap in 2027.
The Raptors already acquired Jakob Poeltl at the trade deadline and it's been widely expected Toronto will make another move to clear up some financial flexibility before 3 pm E.T.
