Knicks Update Injury Report with 3 Key Rotation Players Listed vs. Raptors
The New York Knicks may be down some key rotation players Monday night when they take on the Toronto Raptors.
Mitchell Robinson has already been ruled out and is expected to miss at least two months following surgery on his left ankle, the Knicks announced. He injured his ankle in Friday’s loss to the Boston Celtics and will now force New York to turn to backup center Isaiah Hartenstein for extended minutes.
Jalen Brunson is listed as questionable with a left ankle sprain. He played 33 minutes against the Celtics but may be forced to miss Monday’s game with the injury. The injury does sound closer to probable as Brunson told the team he was “good,” per Fred Katz of The Athletic.
Immanuel Quickley has been a late addition to the injury report for New York with right knee inflammation. His status appears more up-in-the-air for Monday.
As for Toronto, Christian Koloko and Otto Porter Jr. are both out. Porter is battling a left foot contusion though it’s not expected to keep him sidelined for very long.
The Raptors will have Gradey Dick back up with the club following a stint with the Raptors 905 in the G League. He’d been in and out of the rotation prior to being sent down. He could see some playing time as Toronto’s 10th man against New York.
Expect Quentin Grimes and Josh Hart to see more playing time off the bench for New York should Quickley be sidelined. The 24-year-old Quickley has been an impact sixth-man for the Knicks, averaging 15 points per game with a 36.4% three-point stroke.
