Raptors Share Update on RJ Barrett's Status For Wednesday vs Pacers
RJ Barrett's status for Wednesday's game appears to be in question.
The Toronto Raptors forward missed practice Tuesday to attend to a personal matter and is now officially listed as questionable to play the Indiana Pacers, the team announced.
His status will be updated on Wednesday when the organization has more clarity on Barrett's availability. He was the only played who missed practice Tuesday.
Barrett missed four games earlier this year with Toronto as he tended to a knee injury but he has continued his impressive offensive stretch with the Raptors since returning. He's averaging 20.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game while shooting 36.8% from three-point range in 18 games with the Raptors this season
If Barrett does miss Wednesday night, the Raptors will have some options to fill his starting spot. Bruce Brown started games earlier this year when Barrett missed time. The recently acquired Kelly Olynyk could also make the start if Toronto wants to go with more size against the Pacers. Alternatively, Gradey Dick could be in line for his second start of the season.
Jordan Nwora will likely see a bump in playing time off the bench if Barrett cannot go. He's been out of the rotation lately, but is likely next in line should someone miss time.
The Pacers have yet to announce their injury report for Wednesday but the expectation is Pascal Siakam will be in line to make his return to Toronto for the first time since the Raptors dealt him in January. He's expected to receive a tribute video during pre-game introductions.
