The Toronto Raptors got their pizza party.

As promised, Raptors head coach Darko Rajaković came through with a stack of pizzas Thursday afternoon for the team to enjoy following practice. It hadn’t exactly been Rajaković's plan to turn the team dinner he initially promised the team if they won three consecutive games into a pizza party. But insistence from the team appears to have won out.

Immanuel Quickley, who took to Instagram to demand pizza following Monday’s victory over the Indiana Pacers, shared on Snapchat that the team did indeed get their pizza at the OVO Athletic Centre.

The initial promise was made nearly three months ago when Pascal Siakam revealed Rajaković’s deal at a team practice. It was said to be a team dinner on Rajaković’s dime that somehow became a pizza party.

The origins of the “pizza party” remain somewhat unclear, but Rajaković told reporters in Indiana that his team is so humble that they wanted pizza instead of something fancier.

During his post-game speech to the team following Toronto’s third straight victory, Rajaković said he’d pay for something more high-end than pizza. That was until Quickley posted a series of photos on Instagram with the caption “I believe I was promised pizza.” Gradey Dick shared a series of photos with the pizza emoji in his caption.

Rajaković kept his word to the assembled media as well, hooking up those in attendance Thursday with pizza from Makers Pizza.

Toronto did lose Wednesday night to the Dallas Mavericks to snap the winning streak but the loss didn’t seem to put a damper on the team’s festivities.
