Maybe this is the year the Toronto Raptors actually make a big move at the trade deadline.

There is once again an expectation that “now more than ever” Toronto will deal at least one of its two coveted forwards OG Anunoby and Pascal Siakam ahead of the Feb. 8 trade deadline, according to Yahoo’s Jake Fischer. Siakam is believed around the league to be the more likely of the two to be dealt but both forwards along with Gary Trent Jr. are expected to be at the center of trade talks over the next couple of months.

The teams associated with Siakam and Anunoby haven’t changed very much since the summer. The Atlanta Hawks are said to be among the teams most interested in acquiring the 29-year-old Siakam who just scored 33 points against the Hawks on Wednesday night.

Atlanta’s deal has been centered around De’Andre Hunter and it’s unclear if the Hawks are ready to put more on the table to sweeten the offer since this past summer.

Both the Indiana Pacers and Sacramento Kings are said to be interested in both of Toronto’s forwards with a preference for Anunoby, Fischer wrote. The Pacers are expected to expedite their timeline thanks to the emergence of Tyrese Haliburton and could try to make a big splash by acquiring Anunoby ahead of the deadline.

Toronto is expected to be interested in sophomore Keegan Murray as the centerpiece of a package from the Kings, per Fischer, but Sacramento is not expected to deal the 23-year-old forward. Davion Mitchell is believed to be more available as the third-year guard has seen his minutes dwindle in the Kings rotation.

While it doesn’t impact Anunoby, Siakam, or Trent, Friday marks the end of trade restrictions for the vast majority of players who signed new contracts in the offseason. Those players, including Jakob Poeltl, Dennis Schröder, Jalen McDaniels, and Garrett Temple, can now be traded.
