Kyle Lowry’s days with the Miami Heat may be coming to an end.

The long-time Toronto Raptors legend has reportedly been made available in trade talks having fallen out of the starting lineup in Miami, according to the Miami Miami Herald's Anthony Chiang. The Heat are said to be exploring trades involving the 37-year-old Lowry ahead of the Feb. 8 trade deadline next month.

Lowry had started his first 35 games of the season for Miami but was moved to the bench last Friday in favor of Caleb Martin in the starting lineup. The former Raptor has seen his scoring fall to 8.2 points per game, the lowest number since his third year in the league.

It’s unclear who would be interested in adding Lowry ahead of the trade deadline, but his $27.9 million expiring contract may entice someone to make a deal.

New York Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau is said to have loved Lowry in the past and may be interested in adding another veteran guard to the bench in New York, Stefan Bondy wrote.

Earlier this year, Lowry said he had no plans to retire following this season. He said he thinks he can still play at a high enough level to help a team and he remains motivated to help someone next season.

When he does call it quits, he’s remained steadfast that he’d like to sign a one-day contract with the Raptors to officially retire with the organization.

It’s unlikely Toronto would be one of the suitors for Lowry ahead of the trade deadline.
