Raptors Look to Make Do Without Scottie Barnes vs Hornets: Where to Watch, Injury Reports, and More
The Toronto Raptors will have to regroup without Scottie Barnes as they look to knock off the Charlotte Hornets: Where to watch, injury reports, and more
In this story:
It's time for the Toronto Raptors to regroup.
Two straight losses and a fractured hand for Scottie Barnes have marred the past week but Sunday should provide a rare bounce-back opportunity for Toronto with the Charlotte Hornets coming to town for a 6 p.m. ET. tipoff at Scotiabank Arena.
Where to Watch
Sportsnet and the FAN 590 will air the game in Toronto. Bally Sports Charlotte and 102.5 The Block will broadcast for Charlotte.
What to Watch For
- The loss of Barnes is going to require some adjusting for Toronto and it's unclear who the Raptors will bump into the starting lineup. What's is clear, though, is Immanuel Quickley, RJ Barrett, and Gradey Dick will all be bumped up in the offensive pecking order as the Raptors ask for more from their young trio. It won't be easy, but it should help their development in the long term.
- Quickley, in particular, is going to have to step up his playmaking duties with Barnes out. He's had to find a balance between playmaking for others and his own aggressiveness and the loss of Barnes is going to mean Toronto needs more from its No. 2 offensive engine.
- Javon Freeman-Liberty may see some playing time on Toronto's second unit as the Raptors search for a backup point guard. He and DJ Carton will be vying to help replace Barnes as the team's backup point guard when Quickley is off the court.
Injury Reports
Barnes is the only player sidelined for Toronto.
LaMelo Ball, Seth Curry, Cody Martin, Nick Smith Jr., and Mark Williams are all out for Charlotte. Brandon Miller is probable with a lower back contusion.
Game Odds
The Raptors are -7.5 point favorites with an implied win probability of 75%. The total for the game 222.5.
